Rocky
In October, 2008 my husband and I adopted Rocky (a Cairn terrier) from the Lost Angels Animal Rescue in Tampa. Although he only was 1.5 years old at the time, poor Rocky already experienced a lot in his young life. He was roaming the streets all by himself until he found company with a homeless man. It was difficult for this man to take care of himself, let alone a dog. So he decide to bring Rocky to a shelter. My husband and I had been talking about adopting a dog, so we went to the Semi-Annual Dog Adoption Expo in Tampa. Looking at his cute face we immediately fell in love with Rocky and decided to take him home with us.

Rocky is now 3 years old and is doing great living with our family! He is our little lover boy! If you rub his belly, he will spoil you with his kisses. But make no mistake, Rocky is no wuss! He’s fearless and will protect us from strangers. He has a big dog attitude in a small dog package.

I was born in one of Europe’s smallest countries: Belgium. It’s located between France, the Netherlands, Germany and Great Britain. I spent all of my school years in Belgium. After high school I studied Social Work and Human Resource Management at the local college in Hasselt. I graduated and then started work at Social Services in Houthalen, the town where I grew up.
After getting married in 2006 I moved to Florida. Since my degree is not accepted in the States it was hard for me to find work. Additionally, I wasn’t allowed to work for the first year due to my immigration process. My husband describes the whole process of immigration on his website unsaturated.com. In my search to keep busy, I found Zazzle and started uploading all my designs. The result is this website! Big thank you to my sweet husband for helping me create this piece of art!

I was browsing the internet looking for a way to customize a mug or a hat with a picture of our then newly-adopted Cairn terrier, Rocky. I stumbled across Zazzle and uploaded a photo of Rocky. To my surprise I could put his face on some Keds shoes. That seemed to be really cool so I gave it a try and this is the result.

I must say it’s not my best work, but it’s something special since it was my first design.
On Zazzle I saw that a lot of other people uploaded their own designs and could make money with it. Sounded good to me! I wanted to give it a shot, but I didn’t know anything about graphic design. So my hubby “the computer engineer” introduced me to a program called Inkscape to start experimenting with SVG. Soon I made my first animal, a dog, of course. I named him Rocky after my own dog although he doesn’t look anything like him. I uploaded my design to Zazzle and the response I received was more than I expected. I thought to create another cute animal, Valentine, since it was close to Valentine’s Day. And that’s how my creations got started. I got better at designing and I created a bunch of other animals since Rocky. My focus is on children’s products since I assume no adult would wear any clothing with a cartoon dog or mouse on it, but I’m pretty sure that some adults will melt for these cuties too.
I wanted to experiment with other designs, so I opened up another Zazzle store: Rocky Rocks Designs. There you’ll find everything for weddings, baby favors, and much more.
As I said before, all products are created in Zazzle which means that all of my products are fully customizable so you can add your own text or image. You can even move graphics around, change their size, change letter size and layouts. However, you can’t duplicate, reuse or reproduce! Those three things are big no-no’s! All my designs are copyrighted.
